Teaching

This page serves as the door to presentation of my activities grouped under service to the university. This section should be evaluated at 40% of the total.

In August 2016, I joined the full-time faculty of the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy to teach courses in the undergraduate degree completion Human Relations Program as well as in the Masters in Marriage and Family degree program.

In 2019, I became the Director of the Undergraduate Counseling & Wellness Center, while continuing to teach MMFT courses.

In March 2020, the MMFT department shifted to online instruction. Consequently, I taught online in Summer 2020 and a hybrid/flex model in Fall 2020. In the hybrid/flex model, a portion of students are in the classroom and a portion online each class meeting. The in-person group changes every week, leading to some learning opportunities for me as a developing instructor.

In May 2020, I completed Blackboard Academy Fundamentals of Digital Teaching and Learning, earning recognition as a Designated Certified Associate (see image below). I am currently enrolled in Pfeiffer Designing for Digital Teaching and Learning (Learn Original), a second of three courses in digital pedagogy. These courses are offered through the Pfeiffer University Office of Teaching and Learning, in partnership with Blackboard, Incorporated.
