It is a long-standing dream of mine to develop a continuing counselor education program to showcase the work of Pfeiffer University’s Marriage and Family Therapy faculty, students, and alumni. Practicing behavioral health professionals have an annual continuing education requirement to maintain licensure. A Pfeiffer continuing counselor education program could strengthen the relationships between program alumni and students. These relationships would support program training efforts and offer pathways into the profession. In the end, after several learning opportunities, I did create a partnership with Charlotte AHEC to offer a Pfeiffer University-branded seminar series beginning in Fall 2019.
